EMDR
Do you feel swallowed up by the parts of you that are not authentic?
Do you find yourself reacting explosively or shutting down?
Trapped by thoughts of what other people think of you?
These can all be reflections of the harmful beliefs you carry with you.
Your brain developed these beliefs during painful experiences, as a way to keep you safe.
These create critical and shaming thought loops in our minds. Even though we keep these thoughts to ourselves, they operate under the surface, quietly controlling our emotions, choices, and actions.
EMDR is a trauma processing approach that can help you explore moments of your life that created distorted stories, and activate your intuitive voice that wants to love and nurture you.

“Owning our stories can be hard, but not nearly as hard as spending our lives running from it.”
Brene Brown
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR has been found to be a highly effective treatment for trauma and various presentations of mental health. It’s orgin lives in neuroscience, and it is seen as a way to rewire your brain.
Contrary to common assumptions, it is not only for majorly violent traumas. Emotional traumas are just a valid and have a nuanced impact on our perception of the world and ourselves.

EMDR works with the critical, limiting, and protective patterns your brain created to keep you safe.
The eye movement mimicks the same eye movement from REM sleep, activiating your brain in a way that allows it to file things in a new order, find relaxation, and access loving thoughts and acceptance.
How does it Work?

You use this machine to make continuous eye movements from left to right while sitting with a memory. This creates Bi-Lateral Stimuation in your brain, which is a fancy way to say that both sides of your brain are being activated. This allows your mind to use more of it’s power and unlock what is stuck.
You also have the option to hold these triangles in your hand that buzz from left to right, also creating Bi-Lateral Stimulation.
You will do this for a minute at a time, with breaks to reflect on what is coming up for you, which over time this leads you to your own insights.

You being you is what makes the treatment effective.
This process is unique to you, it allows your brain to follow it’s own trail back to self-love and acceptance. Wherever your brain wants to take us, is where we will go. Whatever details, stories, or metaphors make sense to you are meaningful. It is beautiful to see the unrepeated path to healing your brain creates!
Connect with your inner child
As humans we all naturally develop different parts of our personalities. When we are hurt as children, we develop protect parts of ourselves that have the best intentions to keep us safe from pain.
But over time they can limit us, and take away the natural joy, creativity, and freedom that we are capable of feeling. By keeping this awareness in EMDR, we can learn more about the various parts of you, heal and re-integrate the limiting ones, and access the authentic, wise parts that have been there all along.
